We had a wonderful stay at Thorpe Hall in June 2023. Our top floor room was spacious and comfortable. But the biggest wow-factor must be the garden and the entire estate itself. A unique opportunity to stay in such a beautiful property. The hosts were so welcoming and thoughtful. And we loved taking the path through the garden, across the fields to Robin Hood’s Bay. Would highly recommend!

What a lovely place. The hall was so full of character. Spotlessly clean and the owners so welcoming. Thankyou

Thorpe Hall is a beautiful Elizabethan hall, about 3/4 of a mile away from the middle of Robin Hood's Bay.
The interior of the hall is just beautiful, with character oozing out of every room. The furnishings that the owners have are in keeping with the character of the property.
The grounds of Thorpe Hall are beautiful, and also provide a nice peaceful backdrop as the nearby ford constantly trickles, which can be heard in the bedroom with the windows opened. You can also follow a trail from the hall which takes you to nearby Boggles Hole and the beach, where you can then take a more scenic walk into Robin Hood's Bay.
Breakfast at Thorpe Hall is situated in a lovely old room, with lots of selection although there could be more generous portions.
Overall, Thorpe Hall is a stunning location and has charming, characterful rooms. There are lots of quirks with a property this old - poor WiFi and 4g reach due to its relative remoteness and thickness of walls for starters. Yet, this should not put you off, especially if you are planning a lovely romantic break away with your significant other.
Highly recommend.

Great place, love the whole atmosphere, beautiful grounds, lots of places to walk whether you like short or long walks. Plenty to see with Whitby and Scarborough close enough with a short car journey and I believe buses too. Outstanding full English breakfast. Will be visiting again.

Everything about this place was fantastic. We stayed here for our wedding recently and right from the start I knew it would be a great place. We hired the whole accommodation and the owner was fabulous to speak to, she was through and kind, no query was too great. When we arrived the staff were so welcoming and friendly, no problem was too great- they made the most amazing weekend our our lives extra special.
The rooms are all a beautiful size with great facilities, the building is super quirky but well maintained for a building of its age and size but this place really comes in to its own when you consider the gardens- they are simply stunnning.
You need to stay here, end of.

This b and b is so cute and the rooms are amazing. They are quite spacious bit with a historic feel. The garden outside is huge with lots of space to run around with the dogs. There is a lovely walk to the beach through the garden and then the woods and fields. O would definately recommend!
